Textile fabrics can be woven or knitted. For hemp the same techniques can be used as for flax (and other fibres). There are different ways of weaving: Flat weaving (§[7.4.2.1](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011806)), Jacquard weaving (§[7.4.2.2](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011822)) and terry cloth weaving (§[7.4.2.3](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011836)). For knitting, 2 techniques are available: Weft knitting (§[7.4.3.1](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011906)) and warp knitting (§[7.4.3.2](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011920)). Prior to weaving, some preparatory activities are required (§[7.4.1](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011734)). After weaving, often finishing of textiles (§[7.4.4](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011934)) and after-treatments are applied (§[7.4.5](https://wiki-groenkennisnet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HNPE/pages/295011957)).
